How this guide is built

Every figure on this site is either sourced or computed. Sourced means a fee, an opening hour or a boat price came from a page we fetched, and that page is listed at the bottom of the article. Computed means the number is derived at build time from data we hold: every distance and drive time is calculated from the property's own coordinates, so the number in the text and the pin on the map cannot disagree.

Where we could not verify something, the page says so rather than filling the gap. A blank is more useful than a confident guess, and it tells you exactly what to check yourself.

Collections such as the family shortlist are derived from the records, not hand-picked: a resort appears in the family list because its record says it runs a kids' club. That makes the lists boring and reliable, which is the right trade for a page someone books a holiday from.

How we make money

This site earns commission when a reader books through some of the links on it. Those links are marked, and the disclosure appears on every page that carries one.

Position one in the hotel lists is our own pick. Everything under it is ordered by code: verified guest score, then star rating, then name. No position here is for sale, and commission never changes whether a property is listed, what its score is, or what the drawbacks section says about it.

We hold no live rates and never display a price as if it were ours. The comparison module on each hotel page opens the same property on five booking sites with your dates already filled in, and the price you see is theirs.

Corrections

Prices, boat times and opening hours in Vietnam change without notice, and some of what is published about this coast is years out of date. If something here is wrong, tell us which page and what you saw. Corrections are the most useful thing a reader can send.
